An Experienced & Knowledgeable Testing Team

Energy Efficiency is more important now than ever. It affects your comfort, your pocketbook, the safety of your family, and your carbon footprint. At airEnalasys, we provide measurement and data verification services, enabling homeowners, contractors, and utilities to make educated energy-efficiency decisions regarding their ductwork and HVAC systems. Using fully automated diagnostic technology to detect efficiency, we can show you what nobody else can.

Blower Door Testing

Also known as building envelope testing, this test is required for newly constructed homes in Florida. At airEnalasys, we use the blower door to help determine a home's airtightness. There are many reasons for establishing proper building tightness, including:

  • Reducing energy consumption due to air leakage.
  • Avoiding moisture condensation problems.
  • Avoiding uncomfortable drafts caused by cold air leaking in from the outdoors.
  • Making sure that the home's air quality is not too contaminated by indoor air pollution.

How does the blower door work?

First, a blower door is attached to the exterior door of your home. A fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The higher outside air pressure then flows in through all unsealed cracks and openings. The test determines the air infiltration rate of a building.

Blower Door Testing

The blower doors consist of a frame and a flexible panel (that fits in the doorway), a variable-speed fan, and a pressure gauge that is used to measure the pressure differences inside and outside the home to determine airflow. Call for pricing today!

AC Duct Leakage Testing

An AC duct leakage test uses a small fan and a pressure gauge to pressurize a house's duct system and accurately measure air leakage of the ductwork. This test is similar to a pressure test of a plumbing system and is performed at the completion of our work.

AC Duct Leakage Test is required for an Energy Star certification and for the final calculation of the HERS Index. Increased duct leakage has a negative effect on the HERS Index which in turn will affect the FGBC and NAHB certification scores (when a HERS score is part of the FGBC or NAHB certification selections).

Newly Constructed Homes

Having a duct leakage test performed at rough-in allows you to identify any leaks while the ductwork is still accessible and repairs can be easily made. Call to learn more about pricing!

Whole Home Performance

Allow us to verify that your home and individual rooms are getting correct airflow and total air handler flow, as well as allowing us to detect duct air leakage. Our whole home performance service is used to determine if your HVAC system is providing adequate comfort and appropriate flow over evap coils, and it can even provide an estimate of any AC system energy losses. The performance of your HVAC system is determined by measuring CFM target vs. actual delivered, relative humidity, and temperature. Call for pricing.

Commercial Building Test, Adjust and Balance (TAB)

  • Test — We use special equipment to measure temperatures, pressures for evaluation of equipment and system performance.
  • Adjust — Adjusting final settings such as dampers and fan speeds to blueprint design specifications.
  • Balance — We balance the airflow to individual rooms for optimum efficiency and comfort.
